The Job:
As a Field Service Technician here, you’ll be part of our Nelson Stud Welding & Fastening team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair the regional rental fleet, including stud welding systems, power sources, and field diesel vehicles.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment.
- Assist customers in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
- Assist sales representatives in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
- Perform in-house demonstrations for customers.
- Weld samples for sales representatives and customers.
- Perform as a boiler outage service technician as required.
- Perform cycle counts as directed.
- Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities when required.
- Complete company deliveries to various customer/warehouse locations as needed.
- Occasionally perform general building maintenance.

- Associate degree or 6 months to 1year related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, area, circumference, and volume.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
