Hi, I’m RuthAnn Holmes, a proud alumna of South Dakota State University and currently the Marketing Coordinator at CBS Bio Platforms, a company that specializes in feed technology solutions for animal agriculture. I’ve been with CBS for about a year and a half now, and every day I’m reminded why I chose this career path.

In my role, I oversee all domestic and internal marketing communications. That includes everything from managing social media, advertising, and graphic design, to planning events, launching new products, and supporting internal initiatives. If you’ve seen something from CBS Bio Platforms in the public space there’s a pretty good chance I’ve had a hand in it.

What I love most about CBS is the team culture. Krisjan Jones, our President, and the rest of the team truly value employee growth, both personally and professionally. It’s a place where ideas are encouraged and people are supported.

I graduated from SDSU in December 2024 with a degree in Agricultural Communications, Education, and Leadership, along with minors in Meat Science and Animal Science. My path to CBS Bio Platforms started with a lot of research. I was determined to find an ag company whose mission aligned with my values. I attended career fairs, asked questions, and eventually found the opportunity that felt like the right fit.

My biggest piece of advice to anyone starting their career journey? Just go for it. Even if you feel overwhelmed or uncertain, take that first step. Use the resources around you, talk to your professors, attend networking events, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. You never know, what feels scary at first might turn into the best thing that ever happened to you.
