Choosing a major and career can often feel like a daunting task, filled with uncertainty and pressure. It us normal to feel overwhelmed and unsure about which path to take. Here at the Office of Career Development, we want to reassure you that it is okay to be undecided. In fact, we encourage you to embrace exploration, if that is where you are at.
To help you navigate this journey, we recommend several strategies. First, consider taking FOCUS 2 Career, a free major and career exploration assessment tool that provides valuable insights into and identifies potential career paths that align with your interests, skills, and values. Additionally, job shadowing and informational interviewing are great ways to spend time with professionals in fields you are interested in, giving you a firsthand look at what different careers entail.
Day in the Life vlogs can offer a glimpse into the daily routines and responsibilities of various professions, exposing you to career opportunities you might not have considered otherwise or that you may not have access to.
